As part of the 12th annual Trails and Trilliums festival, a Children’s Choir Concert of Appalachian Music will be held on Friday, April 10 from 5:30 – 6:30 in the Monteagle Assembly Auditorium in Monteagle, TN and will be free and open to the public. The choir is composed of approximately 120 area children in grades 4-8. Nancy Boone Allsbrook, a Monteagle resident and retired coordinator of Music Education in the MTSU School of Music, is organizing the concert. Teresa Brown, Tricia Hiers and other area teachers helped make the choir possible. Children will come together under the direction of nationally and internationally renowned composer and children’s choir conductor Mary Goetze. As part of the performance, Appalachian singer Carol Ponder will be a special guest artist, and Cameron Swallow with members of the Tuesday Jam in Tracy City will play before the children’s concert.

The choir includes children from Cowan Elementary School, Sewanee Elementary School, Monteagle Elementary School, Tracy City Elementary School, Coalmont Elementary School, North Elementary School, and homeschooled children.
